(Becky, far right, created a custom hand stamped necklace to celebrate the life of Nick Moreno.  The sixteen necklaces simply state, "Let it Be" with a heart stamped in the center.  Attached is Nick's story, as told by Becky.
Note:  Nick's wife is center, dressed in green.)

Well, I’m not sure where to begin when describing the kind of man Nick Moreno was. He was a huge presence in any room, crowd, or just one on one. He was a very kind and generous person with a wonderful sense of humor and always greeted you with a big hug. He loved his family so much which included his mom, 2 sisters, 3 children (two of whom are 2 ½ year old twins),  1 step-daughter and his wife Cheryl. He also had numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and hundreds of friends. He was the godfather to both of our girls and our oldest daughter, Nikki, was named after him.  He never knew a stranger and that was obvious with over 1100 people in attendance at his memorial service. In May, we celebrated the marriage of his oldest son Matt to Stacie who Nick adored. It was such a happy event and he was so proud of them and so excited to see his son so happy.
The Let It Be necklace idea happened because of Nick’s life long love of the Beatles. My husband Joe is Nick’s cousin, but they grew up more like brothers. Since they each had only sisters, it was as close a brother relationship as it could be. They both love the Beatles and had talked over the years that in the event of the death of either of them, that they would want a party and not a sad event. That party should include the Beatles, of course. Over the course of the week before the funeral, Joe and our girls loaded tons of Beatles songs on to the Ipod to be played at the reception. A group of his friends made copies of CD’s with his top favorite Beatles songs and those were handed out at the reception.  The piano player at the church already had a medley of Beatles songs that she knew so she provided the music at the memorial service. When Let It Be started playing, that meant it was time to say goodbye to Nick.
Our hearts are broken and we will never be the same again. We miss him every day and these necklaces are a tribute to his memory. When we were trying to decide on the design of the necklace, his niece Stephanie said she thought the heart was the best choice. That way when someone asks her what that means she could tell them how much she loved her Uncle Nick. This picture was taken on what would have been Nick’s 51st birthday in July.
Nick was 50 years young and died of a sudden heart attack this past June. He always lived life to the fullest and if there is one lesson here, it is to love your family, let them know constantly how much you love them.
Nick always did that and that is a source of great comfort to those he has left behind.

“In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make”
(The Beatles )

Thank you for letting me share our story.
